About Davida

Movement, Dance, and Joyful Fitness

Davida is a movement educator and fitness coach who helps people rebuild strength, relieve pain, and reclaim joy in their bodies. Rooted in decades of teaching across yoga, dance, and strength training, her classes blend practical biomechanics, accessible modifications, and playful encouragement so everybody can move with more ease and confidence. Shaped by a personal recovery from severe back pain and a lifelong love of dance, Davida pairs slow, restorative practices with high‑energy, music‑driven movement to create sustainable change that feels good

Training and Credentials

  • University: B.A., Journalism, minor Dance — University of Nevada 
  • Yoga Training: Urban Sanctuary 300 hour YTT; Life Power Yoga 200 hour YTT; 500+ hours total yoga training
  • Fitness Certifications: AFAA / NASM group training; SCW personal training; YMCA personal training and group fitness certifications; Reebok Core Board Training
  • Specialty Certifications: BodyPump; Balletone; Turbo Kickboxing; Zumba (Instructor, Gold, Toning, Zumbatomic, Sentao)
  • Safety: CPR / AED and Infant CPR certified

Dance, Zumba, and Choreography

  • One of the first Zumba instructors to bring the program to Denver; selected as an early international Zumba Jammer (choreography      specialist)
  • Faculty at the respected Cleo Parker Robinson Dance Academy, teaching Zumba and yoga
  • Styles taught samba, bachata, salsa, reggaeton, hip‑hop, flamenco influences, and culturally diverse movement vocabularies that spotlight joy and rhythm
  • Emphasis on correct form, musicality, and accessible choreography so participants build fitness while celebrating their bodies

  • Yoga & Live Music: Davida collaborates with musician Mike Galvin to add live music to yin yoga or yoga flow classes
  • Pain Recovery and Back Care: Therapeutic yin and targeted mobility sequences informed by lived experience and evidence informed cues
  • Ski Conditioning and Sport Prep: Short, focused flows to build hip mobility, knee stability, and on mountain endurance
  • Zumba & Dance Fitness: Inclusive, music forward classes that blend choreography with conditioning; scalable for all levels and bodies
  • Morning Routines and Micro Practices: Bite sized rituals to maintain mobility, reduce soreness, and center breath during busy seasons

Workshops, Retreats, and Events

  • Themed workshops combining breath, playful movement or intentional healing for community settings and festivals.

  • Large wellness events: lead fundraising and community walks such as Walk to End Alzheimer’s and the American Heart Association Heart Walk, bringing movement, guided breath, and inclusive group energy to public health initiatives.
